EA Games Game development monopolies make it especially hard for independant developers to survive, smaller companies simply can't compete with this giant when it comes to graphics, game length, multiplayer capability and engine programming. Whilst there is an obvious benefit of a big gaming giant in having the potential to make some truly epic games (which I will gladly admit they have done, ME2, CoD4, CoD:MW2, etc.), these games are all made in the EA way in that you won't see them breaking genre boundaries, illustrated in unorthodox ways or being overly creative like some independant developers. This isn't necessarily a fault of EA, as no company can do everything perfectly, but by being such a monopoly they push down and overtake the other companies out there that can do some things better than they can. I'll never forgive them for ruining Westwood.
CoD and MW games are Activision, not EA, but same difference and I tend to agree with you here.
