What's the deal with Australian grass-fed beef? I see it advertised at places like Citarella. I even had some in Cambodia. I know it is more expensive, but why is the grass greener in Australia to warrant higher prices?
Yes, I'm sure, but now that you bring it up, what is so great about Argentinean beef? There is an Argentinian steak place in my neighborhood that is very, very good, but I assumed it was more about the marinades.
I think it supposed to be the quality of the climate and pasturing, and so forth, but in recent years they have been increasingly doing grain feeding in feedlots rather than "free range" on the pampas so I don't know how current that reputation is.
Argentine grass fed is still very good, but very expensive.
