I will be in San Francisco with my wife next month for a couple of days. I was thinking that having a massage might be nice, for both of us. any recomendations that you can give me for a nice spa type of place would be nice. doen'st have to be too fancy, but definatly needs to be clean and nice.

Suchada is awesome for a massage. Really nice, upscale Thai massage. There are two locations, the one in Soma is small, the new on near the Embarcadero is bigger.

I would suggest the Claremont in Berkeley. http://www.claremontresort.com/

Then follow it up with dinner at http://www.chezpanisse.com/intro.php (there is also the upstairs cafe which is just as good and less expensive)

It is a nice way to add to any Bay Area trip and the views of the entire bay and SF are spectacular from the Claremont.

I agree with all of this, except that the upstairs cafe is not as good. It is good, though.

Or rent a car and go to the big spa place in the Sonoma Valley. I forget what it's called, but it beats anything in SF. The weather will be nicer if you get out of SF.

If you want to stay in downtown SF, the Nob Hill Spa at the Huntington Hotel is very nice. http://www.nobhillspa.com/

This place is less expensive than Nob Hill, and has very nice facilities and excellent massage therapists: http://www.kabukisprings.com/

I was gonna suggest Moonlight Spa and tell you to ask for Stacy, but since you're going with your wife, I have no suggestions sadly.
