Also, has anyone noticed how J. Crew now offers a Men's slim fit option on their shirts? Supposedly they're slimmer than the tailored fit which seems very interesting.

Is this the 'slimmer J Crew' people keep talking about? I found their lightweight secret wash shirts to be about as slim as I can go without sizing up (they seem slimmer then their normal shirts), are their new shirts ("regular fit") now slimmer in general or are people trying them on in "slim fit"?

I think the "slimmer J. Crew" you're referring to is the tailored fit. I think that J. Crew realized that their tailored fit wasn't very tailored so they've just released a new style called slim fit which should be more to SF's liking. To answer your question, you can still buy the tailored fit shirts, but at a $5 premium you can buy the same shirt in a slim fit option.

Thanks. If anybody has the millerain in black small and wants to sell it, let me know.

Many have reported it pills rather easily, and you should either save to buy a nicer sweater (e.g. Saks) or buy on sale. I did the latter during a recent sale, and like what I got for $70.

If you type in "sun faded" in the search box the red chambray shirt will show up

You don't even need to search for the red shirt, just look under utility shirts.

Pretty interesting batch of gear. The covert cloth workshirt is a winner, but at 128 you're pressing into fashion brand pricing.

I am kind of interested in that leather military jacket, though it would have looked better in a flat black; that "tobacco" color is a bit cheap.

Just who do they think their target market is these days? That Belstaff jacket on the front page is $1,500...

one of mickey drexler's goals for the company was having it compete with high-end boutiques. the opening of the liquor store/men's shop is evidence of this as well as the stocking of other expensive brands. most of which is divvied up into it's "luxe" stores, classified by the amount of revenue generated.

I like it. Although, I would just go the extra mile and get a belstaff panther instead. If it ever goes on sale for about 30-40% off, it would be a good deal.

-stration with JCrew is reaching the boiling point. They bring in all these great new patterns and fabrics for fall, finally introduce Slim fit shirts and yet their Tall shirt section continues to be a wasteland. http://www.jcrew.com/mens_special_sizes/tall/shirts.jsp Would it kill them to add some colors beyond blue, grey, white and black and a couple other patterns?

I know I should be thankful they even carry Tall sizes, but I always end up feeling teased by the other stuff.

The site is terribly arranged, we all know this. All of the new flannels even have medium tall, but aren't listed in the "Tall" section.
