yeah sleeves will be rolled up most of the time. I have a size small as well but the chest is ridiculously baggy and is way to long to even think about wearing untucked.. I like the overall fit of the xs over the small.

Imho, the chambrays are meant to look a little large as they are supposed to be modeled on vintage workwear. Workers in the depression weren't worried about slim fit but rather comfort. To each his own, of course, but to me the chambrays look more appropriate when you wear them true to your size.

I can see people sizing down most for most of the button ups if going untucked, however I cant see them being tucked in and staying in because they will be too short. Maybe I just have a long abdomen? I'm 6', 160 and wear a medium.

For those Virginia, Richmond members Jcrew is having a warehouse sale from the 7th -17th I believe off broad.

Those warehouse sales are crazy. You have to have a lot of patience and time. Nothing is sorted. It's all in big piles, little kids clothes mixed in with women's mixed in with men's. It's a mess. I tried shopping one here in North Carolina and came out with nothing but a huge headache.

Yeah I just found out about it this morning, read some reviews online and they say pretty much the same as you. But I think its worth a shot, we will see.

Regarding the issue of sizing down for a slim fit and so on... I've said it before but here's my take. J. Crew is built on the preppy look and style which overall is not meant to look extremely fitted and slim. It's a more relaxed look. I think that's why a lot of people, especially really young guys, have problems with the J. Crew fit. You can't go to J. Crew expecting to get the same kind of modern silouette you find with other brands. That's not what the J. Crew look is about.

That said, sure, sizing down will slim it up for you. So I guess it's about what you want. Slim or relaxed.

Hey, man, it's your headache, but please report your findings. I'd rather spend my Saturday morning getting in some good cuddle time.

I would consider trying a small next time and get the sides taken in a little with a tailor. You will have the good body fit and not sacrifice your true arm length.

It would be nice if they offered tall sizes for all their size range. Not just the large and XL's.

Hey everyone got my flannel and blue chambray today!

So the flannel (Small in slim fit) fits perfectly! I love the slim fit and its a shame they dont offer it for their chambray shirts.

As for the chambray (small) the waist and neck are a little big, sleeve length is fine but they are too wide. What would you guys suggest? Either I could exchange it for an XS but I don't want the sleeves to look ridiculously small on me. Or I could take it to a tailor to get it altered in the same fit as the flannel. Just wondering how much will it cost to get it tailored? I dont want to spend too much.

By the way I thought these shirts WERENT made in China?

tailoring of that nature should cost maybe like $20-30 at most. taking stuff in at the sides is usually no big problem. the waist can be taken in easy. the neck however... well i guess it depends on if you're gonna be wearing this thing buttoned up (probably never). but if you can fit more than four fingers in there when it's fully buttoned then that's way too big.

This is true. Went to one this summer, but I got 2 chinos in the slim fit at, I think it was $10 per. Didn't put them on though. Just trusted the sizing. It was a mess, though. Wanted to look for a sport jacket, but it didn't look promising, so I gave up quickly.

Where do they have these warehouse sales?

As soon as I e-mailed Jcrew regarding the cancellation of the order for my slim fit corduroys, as I wasn't planning on waiting four more weeks, they stated that said pants are now available and that I should expect to receive them in three days. What a coincidence...
