both! I have the khaki which I love. I also have the deep root in the straight fit and I love the color so much that I might even get a second pair in the 484. they are my favorite pants by far.

What do you guys think of the field mechanics jacket? Is it warm enough for fall and winter? Thoughts?

I tried it on recently. It's a definitely a winter jacket. The lining is very thick and isn't removable. It's a nice item, seems very durable, but I was looking for something more versatile.

I usually go with tan suede Clarks bc they are a bit lighter. but any darker brown looks cool .. ie the nubuck sperries. I wear my redwings with them.

intrigued by the 484 and figured i'd try them out. i think i like them. i'm used to a slimmer fit but i wanted something a little different for the fall. they feel kind of weird, i guess because they're just fuller in the leg than i'm used to. they definitely look better with my L/S button-up shirts than my slimmer jeans (stick leg syndrome) do. thoughts? sz 32 waist 16 f. rise 10 thigh 11.5 inseam 33.5 hem 8.25

those the warehouse jeans? i find they are different from the regular 484 denim, which i actually prefer. the latter's fabric is sourced from kaihara.

I think it was determined some time ago that many of A&F's pieces could be confused for SF-approved brands like EG, J. Crew, and W+H if it weren't for the ostentatious/comical branding.

^thanks for posting pics. Fit wise how would you say they compare with Jcrew's "vintage slim fit?"
They look to fit very similar to me.

i've never tried the slim fit but from what i've heard, these are kind of a cross between the 484 and a 501. they definitely don't feel slim. they feel kind of like chinos. i got the smallest size (32) and think i may even be better off with something a little smaller.
