Recommend me a bed....

I am going to have a carpenter make me a bed....

Dark wood, want a classic-yet-contemporary look about it.

Pics/recommendations?

What happened, the old one wear out from overuse?

Just get something sturdy made that can withstand some friction.

nah, just abandoning it in the old house. Way too hard to move. Cost more than I paid for it to get it outta there. Oh, and my new place is short on storage, so if there is such a thing as a well designed bed with some kind of concealed storage space under it, I wanna see it

Just use a "floating" design for the bed. Have the bed rest on a platform that doesn't extend to the edges so that you don't actually see the platform except when you're deliberatly looking under the bed. Then build drawers into it.

ya, actually that is kind of what I have in mind. I found this online and it is the front runner: I would likely add a bedhead to it though, coming straight up at the end.

just met with a carpenter this morning, he is sending me a price for this in MDF and "natural wood" (pine presumably) tomorrow morning. Will let you know... Remember I live in Vietnam though, your pricing will vary accordingly.
