Short hair cut suggestion?

I've had long hair for a while, now, but since I'll be graduating before long and on the job hunt I'll need to go into shorter hair again. But I'm not really sure what I want to do for a haircut at the moment as I've always just kind of had the same thing. Was wondering if any of you had a suggestion for a style I could aim for, if a different one?

Here's my most recent hair... well, actually it was about 1-2 months ago. I've shaved down the goatee to a far less thick state, and have had my hair cut 2 inches shorter.

And then here's 2 pictures from about 2-3 years ago when I had shorter hair:

Sorry about the size of those two, I don't have any from around that time that are very close up. Part of me being unsure about a hairstyle is my hair tends to keep itself pretty straight (though this is nice for the fact that even long haired I can wake up and not have knots in the morning) and also my big fat head and big forehead :P

The 2 smaller pics are far better. Covers your forehead. You can do the same, perhaps more layers. Look at Robert Redford pics. Bring pics of your desired cut in with you to the stylist. Don't rely on verbal description. Go to a good stylist for the first cut - expect to pay around $70. Consider some subtle blonde highlights, which will make you hair appear fuller. http://www.robertforster.net/pictures/redford.jpg http://www.georgecaroll.com/male%20s...rtredford1.htm Shave your beard completely to give you motivation to lose some weight. Don't eat anything that comes out of a box. Only eat stuff from the outer perimeter of the supermarket - fruit, veggies, meat, some dairy.

Ironically my mom has always told me to go for a Robert Redford look. I've always doubted my ability to since my hair likes to stay so straight generally.

Also I don't know about the whole highlighting thing as my hair constantly changes coloring on it's own it seems. I used to be almost blond, then I was dark brown, the sometimes I'm kind of dirty blond with a mixture of brown... meanwhile my facial hair used to always grow in black, even when my hair was fully blond.

I actually was thinking of losing the goatee when I do the haircut as well, I just wanted to see what my evil twin would look like if I ever met him, you know? Curiosity's sake.

As for keeping my facial hair off completely, that depends on how life goes. I tend to not worry about shaving all the time because I'm a full time student and full time worker, last semester it was common for school and work to take over 100 hours of my week due to all the homework, projects, and whatnot.

Also I'm not sure about the part about shaving my beard to motivate myself to lose weight.......? I don't really look too fat in any of the images and am not really all that fat. I do have some fat I wish to lose and will be able to work on more so over summer, but for now I'm just happy that I still can run over a mile without slowing.

Cool. Sounds like you're set.

+1000 on the blonde highlights. Color treatment on men, in general, is just a great look. You can't go wrong.
