my RB2's have a slight bootcut

I stand corrected. However, iirc, the bootcut is very slight, much slighter than at on the RRDS, no?

One other thing about RB to note, especially for those who like thick, dark denim, is that they will start making the RB6 in the RB1 denim this fall. Though not selvage, it has a really nice, dark color, and is stiff and heavy, but still has that sort of elegant RB look to it. I can't wait to pick one up.

LA Guy, didn't know that about the Ola. I suppose for a regular bootcut, one could also try ES Hutch? Everything in the ES lineup fits me terribly, but they work very well for some.

It's interesting nobody mentioned APC jeans. They were made to look "Dressier". The one that fits your description is the Rescue (Also called Straight) model. This is my dressy jeans. I keep them in their raw condition and don't wear them much to keep their "dignified" look. If you want something tighter go for the New Standard jeans.

APC raw denim color + Silery riverts & buttons make them look very nice.

I should probably also mention the denim Decca Trousers "Tacoma" from Earnest Sewn. They spray these suckers with resin to maintain a dark look for as long as possible.

I'll plagarize off myself: The straight legs, trouser pockets and leg creases are meant to evoke a dress pants feel. Although I haven't seen it in person yet the cut looks interesting. I still recommend checking your office's dress code before walking in with jeans.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I have a pair of pdc low full boot in a nice dark wash, the only nice pdc I could find at the time about 6 months ago and want to get more dark jeans. The RRDS is so stiff I don't know if I want to go through the effort of breaking them in so I'm still on the edge about keeping them or not and I know they look less and less like dressier jeans once you start washing (I can't keep them dirty sorry guys).

Though I realize that many jeans experts do not consider them as worthy of the name jeans, the Italian makers such as Loro Piana, Borrelli, Brioni, Kiton, Prada, etc have very refined fabrics, high quality construction, and great style.

I just started a pair of RRDS yesterday. I plan to wear them a week or so, until they are a comfortable fit, then wash them. I am doing that so I don't get much distressing and they stay a dressier pair of jeans. As far as the look once they've been washed once, think of the dry Bootcut Ola in its dry state. Also, if you are a fan of the PDC LTD fit (which it sounds like you are) look around for them in the "Miles" wash, which I've seen at Barneys and on Revolve, it is very dark, almost black, and looks to be sort of a resin wash. If they fit you right, and you don't mind the current quality of PDC (not the best), they can be found on sale. Earnest Sewn are also nice, if they fit you.

I would also try the RB6. Personally, I find the RB1 too baggy, and I have very solid runner's legs and don't like really tight jeans. The RB6 are a perfect fit, and would be almost relaxed on someone who doesn't run, bike or lift. I would give both a try. I think the Pure Blue Japan AI-001 is a good pair to wear in a more formal ocassion.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you on this one. I feel like the stitching is a bit too loud (because of color and thickness).
