Went to Leo's Tacos on La Brea and Venice. Initially I went to Tacos El Galito and I thought it was it....but it sucked. while I was eating I saw Leo's across the street since I was there, I kind of OD'ed on tacos.

Tacos El Galito (I saw another one on the way home).

not really good. Cabeza, Asada and Pastor. They were pretty dry and the tortilla was too thick and not very good.

Tacos Leos

Good, but not outstanding. Glad they put the pinapple on the Al Pastor....taco itself was a bit below average (I liked it shaved like how they do gyros but this was just put on a flat top grill). Cabeza was good. Lengua and Asada, pretty average. It was a decent taco truck, not outstanding but can't beat the price $1/taco.

Went to Father's Office today (first time at Culver City). Maybe I am over that burger.

Went to Bandera in brentwood tonight, steak was very good as was the corn bread and mac n cheese (my staples). Love that place. Been on steak binge lately.

On the way to a Scoops run after lunch, I spied this on Vermont:

Paradis opened in LA? Since when? I never got a chance to hit up the one in Montrose so I decided to give it a shot.

The ice cream is great, but soft as hell = melting super fast outside. I got the Milk ice cream with cherry and chocolate, although I tasted the crap out of everything else. I really liked it; good change of pace from the go-to Scoops a couple blocks/miles away.

$3.50/1 scoop, $4.50/2 scoops, $5.50/3 scoops, etc

1726 N. Vermont

(I know, lame photo shots. Nothing really food-porn worthy)

Too lazy to search, but went to Red O last week and loved it. Entrees were good, starters were MUCH better. The Fondito with Chorizo and the other one with bacon were amazing. Great Margaritas too.

Feels like there are too many places i still need to try in LA! Have a habit of just hitting up the same places.. and I eat out a lot. On my list to try: A-Frame, Waterloo & City, Night + Market... not to including all the dingy places I haven't tried in Boyle Heights & a few more to go in the SGV

Hey guys, can anyone recommend a place to buy a nice slim wallet in the sub $200 range? Looking for a nice leather shop that might make some nice stuff. I see a bunch of nice wallets by little stores but they dont seem to be around the LA area, and i'd like to see the size and feel the quality first hand.

Thanks. And closer to the SF Valley would be great.

South Coast Plaza/mall considered to be LA region? the place sucked. BB SA also sucked. if i want to return it in-store and not through mail, so what? just b/c your old ass doesn't know or want to work the computer doesn't mean you can be such a lame-o. Seriously so dead. Footlocker crew was legit though, talking about the playoff and asking customers who they would choose 'Kobe' or 'Lebron' HAHAHA funny damn anyways, first time there today. will not go again probably

Well...it's a mall. You can't really expect much. Are you judging it solely on your experience at BB?
IMO, as far as malls go, South Coast Plaza is one of the better ones out there.

Also, South Coast = Orange County.

Lunch at Baran on Westwood near SM Blvd. Cherry rice! Boiled chicken a little sweet with the cherry rice but I wanted something different. I liked the meal, don't get enough persian food and its so ubiquitous. usually go to Javan...but this isn't bad. Might return, decent lunch specials.

other than the pizzas, which are pretty damn tasty, i'm starting to feel that gjelina is a bit overrated. the patio in the back is nice, but no cocktails is a bit of a downer and everything has sort of a similar Mediterranean / North African taste to it. Most recently was there for brunch on Saturday. Kale salad was quite nice, though. Need to make another go at the Tasting Kitchen.

one more thing to add. city tavern in culver city, not so much. overall really decent selection of beer, which is a major plus. but food is pricey and was mediocre (had the burger, it was greasy and not that flavorful or balanced). Beer taps at the table is fun but selection is so limited that it's really just a novelty. Decent ambiance but nothing to write home about. Cocktails were also mediocre. Basically, I would consider the place overpriced.
