I can't recommend it 100% because it's almost always packed and not everything on the menu is great. And now with the bar (which a friend who works there says makes great drinks), it'll be even more of a zoo. I also love some of their baked goods but then it's not Alcove that bakes them. I usually tell people to go across the street to Mustard Seed (even though the service blows) or down the street to Home for a solid meal.
OMG Mustard Seed service. Yes, it's the stuffing worst. It's hard to believe it's not just server dependent, but it reliably sucks every time I go there.

Meaning you don't love or hate those 3? My optometrist is on Hillhurst, and she is nice. However, I am derailing the thread because doctors are not food or shopping. I feel positively biased towards Little Dom's because the manager is nice/thinks I'm cute, however I can't really forgive them for having crappy bacon. I realize it's made out of a different type of meat, but they're 0/2 on not burning it.

I'm not sure I get what you mean by "It has changed a few times." Like the restaurant changes location but they keep all the same furniture? Is it a different location for Pann's Restaurant? Edit: I can see the one used in Pulp Fiction was Holly's / The Hawthorne Grill on Hawthorne and it was demolished 10 years ago. I'm still unsure as to where you would go to see the exact location of the scenes that were filmed. I am assuming that that's not possible anymore...

Its confusing because there are two very similar diners on Hawthorne within a mile or two of each other. I've never bothered to see. I just like the googie.

I'll ask around. I'd be totally down for that.

When they still had it, yes.

The specialty meats weren't really worth the price. I normally go Korean there, anyway, so I don't taste the meat as much.

The only specialty meat burgers I'll get is at the Library or buffalo burgers out in Catalina.
