Thanks guys, will check out Pasquale!

City:
Don't have too much experience with your other places (been to Good Luck and Cha Cha once). I'm getting up there in age too and I really dislike going to silverlake in general so I can't say much on a few of your choices.

The Pint is one of my favorite spots to grab drinks, but it is more on the divey side. Extremely busy Friday/weekend nights and usually only one bar tender and not much seating either. That said, they have a great selection of craft beer and whisky if you're into just having drinks at decent prices and no lines.

Some possibilities:
The Blind Barber (culver city). Yes, it's a bar behind a barbershop, but from the times I've been there was no line, and no wait. Weekends get quite busy as well. However, I believe they take reservations for tables.

The Wellesbourne (WLA) Only been here a few times, but decent drinks and seating should be ample (though first come first serve). Haven't had to wait in line, but there sometimes is a line.

I usually opt for some pretentious (but really, I just mean not a dive) bar, i.e. Las Perlas, Varnish, and Sassafras last year...now I'm old and don't care and just want my friends to roll through without worrying about waiting in line or spending a crap load. That said, I live on the West side and and wanted to keep it as local as possible, but I guess I can venture. I was thinking (I'm not TOO familiar with these spots):
The Daily Pint
Good Luck Bar
Tony's Saloon (my first choice - but it's the furthest so I would rather not)
The Roost
Cha Cha Lounge

I was going to say Bigfoot or Villains Tavern but I'm there all the time

So any recommendations for a bar that is a step above a dive? Thanks!

The Lash or Honeycut which just opened.

For the Pantages theatre, which are prime seats? per my understanding Row T is where the mezzanine hits right? So center area row T and below is solid?

Where else in LA can I pick up Gitmans? I checked Mohawk and Unionmade, neither have the one I'm looking for. Want that rug looking one in black and white.

Barney's stocks it but pretty sure they don't have that shirt. Why not just buy online?

Fred segal probably has gitman.

Willys shoe repair on la brea is exquisite. Does bespoke work aside from repairs...

Abbott kiney is developing quite a group of shops. One of which is like solely Kapital and vlas blom, I think it might be a subsidiary of hlorenzo, is a pretty cool shop..

+1 rep for Willy's.
The work on my vibergs was outstanding, and he even rushed to get them done before I left for a trip for no charge.

Abbott Kinney also has The Stronghold and Scotch and Soda, for what it's worth. And good food. And I live in the neighborhood, if that gives you a sense of its coolness. cool.gif

Driving up to LA for a short afternoon trip. Where should I get some decent Thai food? And if I had to visit one area for a couple hours of shopping, where should I go? Been to South Willard and wouldn't mind visiting again.

Lum ka naad but it's not close to valley at all. Maybe if you drive up the 5 home it'll be on the way

Been to about 5 places South Willard area nothing really stood out to me

I don't think he's going to the Valley. Shop in Siverlake/Los Feliz (Mohawk, Confederacy, etc) and then go to Thai Town (Jitlada?). That's all pretty close together, an easy trip.

+1 on Jitlada if he'll be in the area.

Krua Thai in North Hollywood is also excellent, but probably a bit out of the way.
