but if you're feeling very adventurous, check out the Cecil Hotel on Main. Rooms are only $60 (but many do not have ensuite bathrooms)!

has anyone heard anything about checkers recently? i used to eat over there (when thomas keller was the chef) and it looked likea nice hotel. that was years ago, though. great location, still.

The new Ace on Broadway is under construction, not opening till next year though. What about the hotel in Little Tokyo - the Kyoto Grand? Used to be the New something or other, with the beer garden? I'm old and my memory is bad but I've been there for drinks, seemed nice.

I'm not the hugest fan of the Biltmore rooms myself. Out of Biltmore, Standard, Kyoto Grand, and Bonaventure I prefer the bed at the Bonaventure.

I heard some good things about the O hotel from a coworker.

btw Stanley do you live by Little Tokyo/ art district. Your place looks really cool and reminds me of some of the lofts I've seen down in that area.

I stayed at the bonaventure with my gf like 10 years ago. I seem to remember it was pretty fucking nice back then, view was dope and we left the curtains open at night while we did the nasty.

Mariott and Bonaventure and Hilton. All good. Near Financial District. I think the Checkers Restaurant is in the Hilton Hotel.

Went to the new umami in costa mesa last night. Got the truffle burger, manly burger, onion rings, black cherry pop and cakemonkey peanut butter ding dong.

Was pretty tasty, glad there's finally a good burger spot in oc. God there were so many lab/camp fuckstick hipster clones there.

Haha exactly the same in Los Feliz. Still prefer fathers office myself especially of price was droppe by $3

Went downtown tonight, pretty pitiful the scene including 7 grand which was way too packed and uncomfortable so we left. Not many good places they need to step their game up.

I heard the Ace wanted to reopen the state theatre too

Is that the old movie palace in the lobby of their building? I know they're renovating that as part of the hotel.
