new to wet shaving - Page 2

Yes, I plan to upgrade soon. My current stuff is not consistently giving me a close shave with no bumps/nicks or ingrown hair. It will at odd intervals but not if I shave daily.

I'm looking forward to the change.

I noticed i get a lot less bumps - ingrown hairs on my neck which was a problem area with the old mach 3 compared to the DE.....have fun, it makes shaving much more enjoyable to me anyway.

I started wet shaving with a Merkur HD, prorarso cream and a badger brush when I was 15, theres no reason why you should start with a cartridge razor. Its not very hard to do, just don't put much pressure on it and go quite slowly. When I first started I cut up my chin quite a bit, but other then that I've never had any problems like in grown hairs or razor burn.

get an omega boar, a merkur 34c hd with a sampler of blades. depends on your skin type for soap, if it's sensitive i would try something like pre de provence, if it's not go with proraso or tabac to start.

Following is my recipe for shaving nirvana: Merkur HD or Slant Sample pack of different blades (work your way up to the Feathers) Badger brush Tabac shaving soap (nothing compares) Proraso pre-shave cream (apply and leave on in the shower) Speick after shave lotion when your skin is oily Proraso after shave balm when it's dry
