Does anyone know the fastest way to drive from Chicago to the Florida Panhandle? Going through Alabama looks like it will take forever. Thanks.

Take 94 across the Indiana line.
Get on I-65 South.
Keep driving.
Keep driving.
Keep driving.
Keep driving.

Wait, you there?
Nope.
Keep driving.
Keep driving.
Keep driving.

Finally GET to Alabama.
Spend another long ass time driving through Alabama.
When in Montgomery, get on 231/53.

ugghhh, I was hoping for something better. It just seems like there's no good way to do it.

Drive from where ever you are in Chicago to Midway airport. Buy a ticket. Fly to Pensacola. Done. EDIT: You didn't mean drive the WHOLE way, right?

If this situation doesn't call for a Jimmy Buffett boxed set, Jimmy Buffett boxed sets shouldn't exist.

The Chicago area - Florida drive really sucks.
I did basically Valparaiso to Ft. Lauderdale, which was beyond bad. I mean, it's like going to the panhandle and STILL having another Alabama to drive through. It was brutal.

Then 3 months later I drove from Chicago to San Francisco, which made me think Ft. Lauderdale was a short commute.

Ive driven Indy - Panama City a bunch and yea, it sucks no matter what but its not THAT bad.

Ive gone for spring break and once you hit alabama the weather is a little nicer, so that helps. I think its what, less than 10 hours?

My friend and I went from Miami to Indy non-stop after hanging out in miami for the day. That sucked. we almost died. I think that was worse than me going indy to los angeles in 32 hours with one night sleep solo.

This will be a good start: Unless you want something a little more discrete. Then go with an M5.

I'd take that drive in a heartbeat over the Orange County to New Orleans drive I did twice. Boring is being on the same freeway (I-10) the entire time driving through the deserts of California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas. Just barren desert wasteland for miles upon miles.

Dude. I moved from Chicago to Healdsburg. From Chicago until SF, it was I-80. 2,133 miles on the exact same road. Through Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Wyoming, Utah, Nevada, and into California. Talk about fucking boring.

I was taking about the OP's drive, not yours. Yours sounds pretty damn boring as well though.

I just thought we were having an e-peen contest in the form of whose drives had been the worst.

In that case, we're going to have to experience the other persons drive. So jump on the 5 and head down here (a shitty drive in an of itself)and when you get here you can take the 10 to NOLA. I'll be sure to take your drive when you get here and are on your way.

Ugh that's a drive we can agree on. 101 to 580 across the San Raf bridge, down to the 5, then all the way down to Los Alamitos.
Driving fucking blows. We need a better way to travel that doesn't cost a ton.
