Travelling from Toronto to Woodstock (NY) - No Car

Wondering if anyone familiar with Woodstock or the bus lines/rail lines around there could advise me on the best way (cheap and as short as possible) to make this trip.

I do not have access to a car, and flying seems too expensive for my budget.

From what I can gather, the only bus that goes into Woodstock leaves from New York City, which is quite out of the way since I am coming from Toronto.

What would be the best way to make this trip?

Try Craigslist rideshares. Also check the Megabus and Greyhound websites.

Hmm never thought of a rideshare, good idea, I will check that out.

The best route I can come up with so far is:

Bus > Toronto to Syracuse
Bus > Syracuse to Albany
Train > Albany to Rhinecliff
Cab > Rhinecliff to Woodstock

This would be around 9-10 hours of travelling or so, and perhaps only a bit cheaper than flying.
