You guys really should take me off "ignore". The Verizon iPhone exists. The only question at this point is when they actually start selling it. I'm hearing September from one source and Jan-Feb '11 from another, both within Verizon organization.

Did someone say something?

I wonder if there will ever be an iPhone on Verizon...

Testing. Testing.
1-2-3

Is this thing on?

I'll probably wait and see how many other people switch and then see how AT&Ts network does. I am anticipating a lot of switching here in SF which, along with NY, are the worst in undercapacity.

Get out of here with your personal knowledge, dude. We operate on pure logic, speculation and extrapolation. Facts are for small-timers.

I'm a big Verizon fan and customer so this is excellent news.

This makes me sad because I switched from Verizon over to AT&T for the iphone last year. I still have my Verizon contract though, which is up in June, I think.

Also, read this:

Summary: AT&T is unfairly maligned.

I could be wrong about this, but I don't believe there's any such thing as a Verison SIM card. SIM cards apply to GSM technology, and Verizon's US network is built on CDMA technology.

You are sort of right. Verizon has sim cards for use in their dual mode phones for use overseas(I have a verizon sim in my bb storm). In theory if you were to unlock a GSM phone and stuff a verizon sim card into it, it would show as verizon on the carrier. I think.....

Apparently the phones in use here are dual-mode (GSM/CDMA) like the BB Storm you mentioned. As I said, I've seen it in use, in the back room of a Verizon corporate store here.

Verizon won't look so rosy anymore with the iphone bandwidth hogs clogging up their network.

I've been with Verizon for a long time:
Made the switch from BB to Droid, and will make the switch from Droid to iPhone, if and when it comes to Verizon.
