So CT has a decent sale for 40$ per shirt, Lewin also has a sale for about 40$ a shirt and Modern Tailor is in the same price range, which is best and is there a place to buy Lewin shirts in New York or is it only online ordering?

Thanks

there's a good thread that's active now about english stores and shirts.

i've bought CT slim shirts in the past and returned it because i didn't like the fit.

if i was going to buy new shirts now, i'm thinking of going the moderntailor route.

TM Lewin if the fit works for you.

I'm fairly certain that the English rtws will have better fabric than $40 MT shirts. Also, MT seems to charge a flat $10 shipping fee per shirt. So basically add $10 to the price tag. Although, they do give you free ties.

CT. I love their slim fit line, it really fits me well. Also, I had a CT shirt from ~4 years ago, and just took it to the tailor to make it slim fit (I stupidly ordered classic fit). The tailor really liked the fabric and shirt (if that means anything at all).

I think it comes down to how TML or CT shirts fit you. I think there is a thread that describes this, but generally the TML slim fit shirts are a little more slim. Maybe, you can buy 1 of each and decide that way (return the other). I don't know much about Modern Tailor, but am scared of taking my own measurements and don't want to deal with adjustments after the fact.

I'd be pretty scared of whatever fabric you're getting on a $40 shirt from a place like MT.

Of the three listed, TM Lewin is a bit above CT in terms of quality. For a slightly higher price, you can get H&H, which is much better than either of them.

Modern Tailor's basic shirts start at $39.99. Add $10 for shipping and $5 for monogram and the cost adds up to $55. Without the $20 coupon to subsidize the purchase, their prices aren't that cheap.

Modern Tailor - Choose fabrics from the weekly sales, add to cart and then wait for next weeks fabric sale (or even request it go on sale next week) then ship them all at once. You retain the discounted fabric if you add it to cart.

Always wondered about that. But whenever I get to next week, I realize that I really don't want last week's fabric after all.

But agreed. When on sale, MT is hard to beat. But the Alumo or Testa fabrics never go on sale.... :\\

Harvie Hudson looks nice, but their shipping price is kinda ridiculous.

I'm a big fan of modern tailor. With the weekly sales, MT offers best quality, selection and fit for the money. They now have close to 800 different style of ties, 700 fabrics and over 50 non-iron fabrics to pick from.

I tried to take advantage of the 4/$160 offer at TM Lewin last week, but they said there was a high frequency of fraud from my area and they wouldn't send out my order unless I sent them a copy of my bank statement. Good luck with that corporate policy...
