How do you like the food scene there, in general? I've heard that for a city that size, the food/restaurant scene is great.

yeah boston burger is nice, they have some obscenely calorie laden stuff. The Portuguese Breakfast and Artery Clogger are good, and the serving sizes for their fries are gigantic. Don't get the Rocky Mountain Oysters though, those were a letdown.

That being said, I do like the Bleu Ribbon burger.

A $9.99lb gimmick.

Kua Aina and Freshness Burger take the cake at being the best fast food burgers. Hands down. The Onion and Red Robin are ok, and just that. Its decent enough if I dont care and just want to get a burger and beer with my friends for cheap. Oh and its already been covered by TS and SF but yeah, Kobe Beef Burgers are a crock of shit.

Check out RF O'Sullivans in Somerville between Squares Inman and Porter. Garden at the Cellar on Mass Ave has a good one on their lunch menu. If you like grilled fast food type burgers, Flat Patties in The Garage is interesting. Those are my spots, all in Cambridge even though I live in So End like you. Not sure where to go around here since there is no Tim's anymore.

ok we (or at least most of us) know kobe beef burger is shit. but I've been wondering what do they do with a kobe beef's, uhm, "cheaper" cuts?

Also remember that there's real Wagyu kobe and American kobe, which is a half-breed with Angus, and that's the type of "kobe" that's often used in burgers.

Cheaper cuts do you mean guts and tail, or tougher parts?

Most of the tough meat gets turned to sukiyaki style paper thin strips.

Unfortunately, i don't have the funds to take in all the city has to offer. In terms of small hole in the wall type places that serve awesome food i've found some that i really like. Also a few other restaurants i've been to (seafood, venezuelan, ethiopian, japanese) that in my opinion were great. So far so good but there is a lot of good options in allston/brighton, brookline, somerville, cambridge, and boston proper. Still a lot of food to be eaten

The only time I get to eat on your level (not even that really) is restaurant week, but chrono is right in that there are a lot of little places that surprise you with good stuff. I've only ever had one experience eating out where I was like "probably not doing that again" and that was because of the service, not the food.
