My minimum garb regardless of flight time is:

-jacket (often a navy or khaki blazer, flannel or cotton)
-chinos or casual wool/cotton trousers
-pocket square
-ocbd
-Loafers. Hate wearing laceups on flights.
-briefcase with a good book, latest issue of "The Economist," and extra underwear and socks.

This would likely change if I were a regular on overseas or coast-to-coast flights. But as it stands I only take ~10 flights a year and they are rarely more than 4 hours total travel time.

chinos, shirt and cashmere jumper for me. i sweat like a madman on planes (even if im cold which is weird) so i always pack a spare shirt in my hand luggage.

Normally, chinos or jeans, decent lace up shoes, I have a few shirts that I find to be really comfortable, so I'll wear one of them, and a sweater of some sort.

Like someone else mentioned, I've learned to bring an extra pair of underwear, socks, and of course toothbrush/paste and contact lens stuff, just in case my luggage is delayed or takes a longer route than me.

1. Nothing tight or particularly skinny. Comfort is of the essence.
2. A jacket with plenty of pockets.
3. A lightweight sweater.

And always take extra underwear, an extra shirt, and toiletries in your carry-on.
