Looking for places with a wide selection. Preferably within the city limits. Any suggestions?

Calvert Woodley in Van Ness is quite good.

Calvert Woodley and MacArthur are the two best. Schneiders of Capitol Hill is also not bad.

3rd vote for Calvert Woodley.

Also really like Bassin's on Macarthur blvd and Pearson's on Wisconsin. The guys at Pearson's have tracked down and ordered me cases of wines that they don't usually carry at no charge. I'm not sure if that's the norm, but it was great.

Oh, and Chevy Chase Wine and Spirits. They're good too. Great Bourbon selection. Don't buy any though, it's all mine.

Bassin's and MacArthur are the same store. Pearson's is not bad. Forgot about them.

The one next to CVS @ the Van Ness/UDC metro stop (red line) is excellent.

^Calvert Woodley.

Pearson's also has a bunch of wines open for tasting on most days. Usually what's on sale, but it's good to get to taste them before buying, even if they're cheap.

This thread proves that east of the Great Basin and south of the Sacramento, you better say "Washington state" if you want anyone to know what you're talking about
