I assume moving isn't an option? How about taking up a new habit that will drive the smokers to move? I am picturing two girls, one cup, and an open doorway when they walk by.

Someone suggested floorboards too... Pull them off and fill any gaps. In an old apartment, the front closet smelled because it was adjacent the garbage chute for the building. I basically didn't use that closet for anything except storage b/c I was too lazy to make an issue of it and I had another closet that was fine for all my clothes. It's amazing how small a space a smell can get through....

If your in a newer unit, and since I seem to remember your in a new thing in DT TO, it might be the bathroom vent. It seems they tend to run those into a common pipe and up and out. I have stayed in hotels where it was coming from two floors ABOVE and was told it was the bathroom vents.

See if it's coming from the vent over the stove in the kitchen - it might communicate with the neighbor's vent.

huh. My old neighbor used to complain of my cigarette smoke getting in her apt "through the wall."

maybe she wasnt crazy after all
