I believe this is true. I understand that the strip clubs, massage parlors, escort services, etc., do twice as much business, in dollar volumne, as the Braves, Hawks, Falcons, etc., combined, even when the radio and TV revenue for those sports are included. And we have a church on every block, where you can seek forgiveness.
Ah, the Southern Baptist mentality. Openly bawdy, tawdry and evil old New Orleans, a good Catholic town, made much more sense to me.

if you exclude the rest of the city of l.a., hollywood has that distinction, on both counts.

Chatsworth, Van Nuys, etc... do fairly well in that regard as well (The sex worker part, not places of worship)

welcome back, by the way. post a thread about real estate when you get the chance, i'd be curious to hear your POV. (IIRC you have some investment properties...?)

Never tried it, don't really have the figure for it. Maybe if I could get myself into better shape.

I do, but what are you interested in primarily? Most of my RE investments are in rent producing properties at the moment; the houses I own are primarily residences for myself or family members.

I have had them in different towns and places (years ago), though the attraction of a strip club is different from that of the attraction of a lap dance.

I typically prefer to pass on the dance and observe them from afar. Indeed, if you're lucky enough to be sitting next to a high roller, you may get most of the benefit of a lap dance (i.e. observation from not very afar and close proximity of said objects of giggling desire) without laying down the big $.

IMO the best place for such things is Canada. Odd but true. Now I've only been once but ... the aptly named "Club Supersex" in Montreal had (i) some of the best looking women I've ever seen and (ii) some of the least expensive lap dances I've ever encountered and (iii) the club is a "full monte" (i.e. topless and bottomless) affair. Normally I prefer a bit left to the imagination, but the women in this place were so stunning that I was pleased to be left imagining less....

Since middle school, having had a friend whose father owned many strip clubs, I got the opportunity (and did) visit a few of them early on. It was only as a joke on my 21st birthday that we popped into a strip joint. I got a lap dance....

THE FOLLOWING ARE GRAPHIC DETAILS. (hah)

She was tall, blonde, in excellent shape and had her original breasts. Some of my friends wer ethere, and it was just embarrasing. She stood infront of me on the table, bent over, and smiled at me (upside down obviously) while directing my attention to a certain area of her body. She climbed onto the table, put a little scarf for her to rest her bottom, then leaned onto me, biting my ear, kissing me a bit (very, very weird), and fondling herself. Then, she stood back up again, took my face, and rubbed it into her breasts. I can't say that it wasn't a bit of fun. Then the more explicit stuff resumed for a few more minutes, and twice she quite aggresively rubbed my private parts through my jeans (and told me I was huge - yea right). She then put her legs on my shoulders, and gave me a front row seet to her vagina... she did several variations on this theme.

I was completely wasted and I really, really doubt that I could have gotten through that without having been in such a state. It was bizzare, and not terribly arousing since it was a professional thing. She was really nice though, and I have to say that they are quite good at not making it so awkward.

So, there's my little experience. I'll never do it again because I prefer the company of a real woman... though it is definately not as readily available as paying for it. I think people who go regularly have issues.

the word "sex club" is never used here.

I used to end up in the Gold Club on occasion when I was living in ATL.

We never really went in there for the dances though. Knew a bouncer and a cocktail waitress, so we would just go in and hang out. The "entertainment" just became eye candy. Nice eye candy, but just not a destination.
