Metrosexual Stops Grooming for 14 Days

Waaaaaaaaaaa!

http://www.asylum.com/2010/03/22/man...tops-grooming/

I will admit my personal-care regimen is a tad over-the-top, consisting of weekly MANicures (buffed, not polished); biweekly haircuts, pedicures and mini-facials; and monthly chest, eyebrow and underarm waxing.

All this somehow led to me being challenged to a "man makeunder" (i.e., no "excessive grooming" for 14 days).

When my girlfriend and I first started dating, my daily application of a moisturizing aloe vera mask caused her to scream so loud one morning that my neighbor called to see if everything was all right. I even remove the hair from my nostrils using herbal wax on a stick, which is so worth the pain

Methinks he likes to remove hair from more than his nostrils with that stick.

I like his astonishment that the $2.69 deodorant worked just as well as the $18 one he was normally using.

I read the article and thought - what a douchebag!!!

And then, this morning I started to think a little more about it as I was getting ready. I groom myself but am hardly meticulous about it: 20 minutes to shower, shave, and be dressed - on a good morning, and I use very little in terms of 'product'.

But this guy, on the other hand - for his make-under, seems to have really let himself go. I mean - hair's a mess, there's stubble on his face - and his expression - it was like he wanted people to see him suffer and be grungy with the plain soap and generic deodorant.

All the reactions he got about his make-under - part of me thinks that they were less a part of his appearance and more a matter of his attitude and presentation. He could still have been reasonably put-together and pleasant about it, but I suspect he became a sullen bastard and no one wanted to even be near him.

So now I'm thinking - what a douchebag!!!

Agreed. He's the innocuous Patrick Bateman. I wonder if he had to go return some videos.

That guy was on the TV show "I Love New York", got punched by a large black man, then ran away cowering.

Having reasonable claim to needing a neologism on par with anything brought on by social networking sites wins you a little trophy with a gold bee wearing a graduation cap on it. Only the "2nd Place Lincoln Middle School Spelling Bee 98" has been crudely scratched out and I just carved "ASSHOLE" underneath it.

What a self-absorbed, obnoxious and unattractive goon.

He should realize that he didn't look any better with his rigorous grooming routine than he did without. Lipstick on a pig.

I enjoy moderation. Too much of anything can disturb the Qi.

I think he looked just as bad before the 'makeunder' as he did after. There really is no point in having manicures done and waxing your armpits and nosehair. Men can cut their own nails and trim them so it's not disgusting, men don't really need to shave their armpits unless it gets wild, and nosehair can be trimmed as well (without waxing). He takes it to a whole new, unnecessary level.
