the thing about nordstrom is: you buy something because the salesmen plays the devil advocate on you and their persuasion is very compelling: buy it and return it any time if you decide you dont like it. dont worry. no problems. they always say that.

but the couple of times i had to return expensive merchandise , they always give you this attitude like, why you returning this and i get the feeling they dislike me.
oh well

oh yeah, i always do that, scan every row, and tolerate those guys who either unknowingly, or smallmindedly-defiantly stand in the middle of the narrow rows even though they know you are trying to get to the other side.
i even ask the shoe mate guys to find any fams for me . usually i ask them only when they are not so busy; when they are so busy , they probably will just pretend and come back and say there are none.

i really dont like the fact that when you find a great shoe, like an AE or something and you give it to them for the mate,
the guy will grab the shoe by the toe ! or throw them into his bucket and then pile a half ton of high heels from waiting customers on top of your poor AE!
scuffing them even more.

huh, the one time I returned a pair of shoes was something that cost $400 and the salesperson took it back, gave me the refund, and never even looked in the shoe box to make sure everything was in good order. If it makes you feel less conspicuous, I guess you could return it to a different Nordstrom. Maybe that's why they're giving you the evil eye.

Nordstrom's return policy is pretty great, and very generous, but it can screw their salespeople (who lose commission on all returns of their sales... if you return a big ticket item months after the sale, it still counts against their next paycheck). This makes sense, but can make the floor staff a little moody. If you return something in the $400+ range, make sure you don't get the same salesperson you bought it from!

Nordstrom's most impressive sale is the Anniversary sale, which shoudl be starting any day now. If those Santoni don't get discounted then, they probably won't get discounted (unless they get returned/send a display shoe to the rack).
