Yes, I am still here, even if it is hard to focus on my work sometimes... First of all thank you guys for the support I got privately and public. I am really grateful for that. Yes, I will answer, but not now. I can't. Let's focus on shoes, what I make.

I really like the first pair. That's a nice last, and the bevelled waist looks great. I'm not too crazy about the second one. The sleekness of the wholecut and the chunkiness of the Norwegian welt don't mix well in my eyes. But I can't deny the quality of the craftsmanship.

My preference would be the brown calf with the welts and last of the black shoes, but both are very nice.

Marcel,

Both pair are beautiful. I'm not fond of gozier work but it is clearly done with a lot of finesse and grace.

Other than that, "grace" is the word I would apply to both pair.

I love the toe on that last. As we both know, with bespoke work that toe could be changed, but whether I was inspired by you or just the general aesthetic that is current in top quality shoes, it's very similar to the toe I put on my new shoe last models. I think it is very elegant and that's particularly evident on the black pair.

Hang in there my friend, you're one of the best in the world. But you know, down deep, it's the work itself that's the thing. At the most fundamental level, we make shoes for ourselves

I see a lot of Marcell's clients like wholecuts

Would love to see a Budapester wing tip monk strap...with brogueing and gimping all around...on your modern Budapester raised toe last...if none is available...then it might be time to collaborate on one together
