Old flame trying to get in contact

I just want to see what some guys here on the forum think. Recently I went home for a visit, I was there for about a month. In that time, an exgirlfriend from 20 yrs ago back was trying to get a hold of me. She called several times but did not leave her name or number. Call display is a wonderful thing. I believe she got a hold of my mother's number from a friend that I bumped into that I had not seen in about 17yrs. That friend's parents happened to be my exgirlfriend'sneighbours. Just to fill you in, we dated for about 4yrs and both her parents as well as my parents believed we were enroute to getting married . Anyway she had some envious friends and they started sticking their noses in our business and the relationship fell apart. I figured that if she could not see what the people around her were doing to us then I could not have been that important to her. I really loved this girl, she was everything I wanted in a woman. When I spoke to my friend that I had not seen in 17 yrs he told me that she is still single. She is about 38 yrs old now. She is a successful business woman living in a different city.
So my question is why is she bothering to get in contact with me? It's nice to know that she thinks about me. Hopefully their good thoughts. .

Don't be a call screening douche...if it rings and you are free to answer, pick up the damn phone.

Not really related but I hate it when people ignore unrecognized numbers on their phones (since cell phones usually don't have caller ID and only display a number if the person is not in your address book)...It is not uncommon from me to call from numbers other than my mobile such as a phone at work or something (land lines sound better...) and if that person then does not check their voicemail quickly...it is a pain. I won a party for 20 people at a strip club by answering a number I didn't recognize...maybe she just wants to give you a present.

Or maybe you have a kid

I concur. Answer the phone. Or phone her. You might find out something very nice. edit: an old flame of mine and I talk, text or email once a week or so. We're still friends, 35 years after our last "encounter".

I'm currently married and happy with my relationship. My wife knows everything cause I do not keep secrets from her. The old flame is single. As for not answering the phone, very time she calls I'm out and someone else in the house answers the phone. I view the last calls in the memory of the phone to see who has called since she does not leave her name or number.

Still should talk to her to find out what she wants. If she's sniffing around for something other than just a friendly "hi, how you doing?" you can set her straight on your situation.

I must have missed the fact that she phones and doesn't leave a message. That is a little odd.
