Aftermarket for Runway Pieces: Is there one?

What happens to the clothes designers show on the runway when the shows are over? Some end up in the closets of the stylists and the models, I suppose. Some go to sample sales. But some must be sold, either by people close to the designers or by dealers. Does anybody know any of the latter: dealers who specialize in leftovers from the fashion shows? And what's a good way to track down these clothes, other than punching the word "runway" into the e-bay search engine?

They are hard to find. In NYC, they sometimes end up at designer consignment stores.

Since there are so few pieces used for actual runway shows, it would be hard trying to locate a lot of them. After the runway shows most of the pieces go out to photo shoots for either advertising or editorial work. The chances of these pieces being lost while out on a shoot is very high. The things that make it back are usually sold at sample sales if the employees don't grab them first.

Sometimes, you see them for sale on the eBay.
