RIP Nujabes (Seba Jun)

The artist/producer Nujabes (Seba Jun) died in a car accident back on Feb 26th, but the news wasnt published till yesterday. Dude was amazingly talented and well known amongst the indie hiphop scene as a producer and for Nu-Jazz. He also owned a pretty cool record shop in Shibuya. For those unfamiliar with his work: More hiphop-ish (Shing02 as MC) Jazzy

I was going to post this but figured nobody would care. Good to see others like him I loved Nujabes, one of my most played artists and soundtrack to a certain era of my life. I listened to his albums yesterday after I found out, and his music was appropriately melancholy.

Rest in peace to him. I honestly think his songs can be attached to any and every emotion, whether it be happiness, sadness, or loneliness. He leaves behind a great legacy.

I am surprised so many others here had heard of him. Actually I never watched Samurai Champloo, but my brother heard him on XM radio probably 5 years ago and suggested I check it out. Been a fan since.

Wow. That sucks. RIP. A really great talent. I had heard of him and heard small selections of his music, but I hadn't listened to a complete album until I saw this. It's unbelievable that music of this value can't find mainstream notoriety.

Seriously. Although I thought he was pretty well known in Japan.
