Suede shoes

EG are great at calf leather, Alden and Carmina do wonderful work with shell cordovan. Would you know which maker is renown for suede shoes?

In my experience, the EG suede is as good as it gets. I have a pair of Newburys in their mink suede (which is dark brown), and the quality of the suede is just light years more luxurious (softer, more even, and deeper in effect) than many other suedes I've seen and felt.

Has anyone had JM Weston's suede shoes?

John Lobb makes refined suede shoes--as nice suede as I've seen.

JL and EG are in the same category however, and of course you are going to get the nicest materials in the upper pricing / construction echelon. Which JL, BTW? Paris (LV) or London?

Jon.

The stag suede shoes made by Crockett and Jones for Jeremy Law (www.moccasin.co.uk) are pretty darn nice.
