I'd say go for it - I haven't been but I haven't heard people complain about the food, etc. The service is as good as any in the city and you can't beat the dining room. I would say, however, that if you want to swing a 3* lunch check out the Bristol - sit in the garden and watch the world go by.

Is it still as good as it was (just you guys' personal opinions, ignore rating)? If not, then what's good traditional french place with similar deco/atmosphere?
Avoid G. Vefour if you expect great food. I have been there a few weeks back and it was flled with businessman and tourists. Service is not good (was there for lunch), sat in front of empty plate for 10 minutes until floor manager noticed it and removed them themself while giving shit to the waiters in French. Barely warm pea soup was good, but barely warm, not the way to serve a soup. Everything else was unmemorable. I did not even finish the deserts, they were too sweet and boring. Cheese table was good ,but that is not a restaurant's accomplishment really. In short, unremarkable food and service , remarkable history and interior is gorgeous.
