Raw denim in the dryer

Are there any reasons why raw denim shouldnt be put in the dryer for 10minutes when new after a cold soak ? My way of thinking is that this will get all the shrinkage out of sanforized denim before they worn. Or will a cold soak for 2 hours shrink them ?

a cold soak should shrink it where everything won't shift when you do eventually wash them. A dryer can wear down your clothes faster in general. i tend not to put stuff I care about in a dryer. But the dryer will work if you want to shrink them down more (say you bought dry jeans that were too big). But ten minutes shouldn't hurt.

it seems like a cold soak doesn't really get rid of all of the shrinkage, should probably go with a warm

PG2G might be right. I usually wear mine after cold soak, so mine get warm while still wet.
