The Psychological/Sociological Effects of Clothing

All right.. So you have a nice house. You have a nice car. You have a powerful computer, atomic cell phone, all the latest and greatest things. Society will accept that - you worked hard for those things. You may even be applauded for having earned them. But, somewhy, if you dress in VERY nice clothing, often and conspicuously, you're resented for it; you're a 'rich snob', and the like. Could it be that clothing really matters? That others really do care about what you're wearing? EDIT: Yes, I misspelled sociological. Sue me.

"It is only shallow people who do not judge by appearances" - Oscar Wilde

People do almost always judge your clothing regardless whether or not they admit that. But different people judge things differently, so for some you look nice, for other you're a rich snob.

*nods* I was wearing a plain, white Ermenegildo Zegna T-shirt not too long ago. Some (albeit) younger person wearing a gray shirt with a Nike logo gave me a belittling look, as if HE were somehow superior becase the brand we was wearing was obvious (my Zegna T has no logo... I guess he thought I bought it at Target). lol Men today are sartorially ignorant.

lol. i used to think like you. I figured as long as I was wearing all the SF approved brand with tags on the inside, I could walk around smuggly pretending I was some sartorial god. Give it another year or so and it'll wear off.
