Working on Phd in Advertising and Communication Management. First tip: when advertising for skills, actually state what skill you're looking for.

whoops, my bad!
I guess my question is what are the skills that are the most important, skills you need on a daily basis.

I realised I was made for advertising when I realised I could sell. At 17 I took my first ever job in an Art Gallery. Within a week I'd sold £20,000 worth of art and I'd never had even an hours sales-training. You need to be able to believe in an idea even if you know its lies. Once you can look someone dead in the eyes and make them believe anything you say, then you know you're ready for PR. Branding is about creating this set of ideas that people attach to your product. For a politician I guess you'd be trying to get people to associate ideas such as Honesty, Truth, Leadership and Intelligence. Thats where PR comes in.

The ability to lie well, get sluts to keep their mouths shut, and not to be burdened with things like character, ethics, or a conscience.

I've been in political campaigns in the past. Communicative skills are the most important. The best skills are knowing the topic/subject very well. Talk in a smooth and controlled manner and make sure you have a professional appearance.
