Disputing a denial on a fedex claim?

I sold a piece of machinery online not too long ago and shipped it out by fedex.

The rocket scientists there not only managed to destroy the box, most of the item inside they also returned it with some other random item inside.

I filed a claim and noticed today it was denied. I'm out $400 on this plus the $70 and change they charged me to ship it (from my house back to my house).

What are my options?

I've never had a problem with them, had an account since 2005 or so.

How much insurance did you have on the item?

I had $400 on the insurance, same as the claim.

I'd file another claim in that case. They shouldn't be able to deny your claim if Fedex was the one who damaged your package and returned it with some other item inside.
