How much cash in your wallet - Page 5

Usually $20-30 in $1, $5, $10 for tipping.

Nada unfortunately.

Typically $60-$100, sometimes a little more. I like the feel of cash. It reminds me that I'm spending money. Using a credit card diminishes that feeling. I also used to keep a C note tucked behind my license just in case a blackout happened and I had no ATM access. Paranoia is just heightened awareness.

$60 currently, usually $20

$40 to $80

I hate going to the ATM, and I pay cash at bars because paying with a credit card is a pain in the ass (why do so many people do that shit???) so I take out $300 and it usually lasts me a week or two or three.

Seriously, I hate people that pay with CC at bars. It occupies so much of the bartender's and the payer's time (screwing everyone else over), and I know people that leave their card at a bar almost every weekend. Jesus.

Generally I only keep about $40 on me, put everything I can on CC no matter how small. The trick to CC is of course to only spend what you have cash in the bank to pay for. That way it's like 30-45 days of free money plus rewards. If you don't pay, well then you're f_cked. The only time I go up to about $60-80 is if I'm going out for dinner and then a bar.

Right now about $50. Usually less than $20.

I live in a large college town and bartenders would much rather you pay with a card than sit and try to make change from cash. Plus, people who pay cash usually tip less (maybe $1 every other drink or so) than people who tip on the final bill at the end of the night with a card...after they've had a few. I'm not sure why it takes so long where you are, but in Athens it's basically... "I'll take a Jack and Coke, Newcastle, and a Sangria." *bartender brings drinks* *hand bartender card* "Would you like to keep it open?" "Yep." *bartender walks away* It usually takes 5 seconds for her to hit "print", bring me my card and receipt, and walk away at the end of the night and everything is done. Not sure why it's so tough for people around you to get that done.

A double sawbuck at all times.

Usually $40

I take out 300 dollars from the ATM on Friday and that will take care of gas, lunches and bar tabs for the week. I usually have a few bucks left over and that cash is kept at the house. Doesn't hurt to have extra cash laying around.
