There are prostitutes all over the world, even walking down certain streets in China (when I was there), random girls would hook their arms around you, make you feel like you're important and proceed to sway you towards their HQ bar/pub. All of the stupid white guys fall for it lol.

are RICH fat old cunts with their own businesses or highly paid positions
have wives and kids and need someone discreet
may be there for the ladyboys

so anyway it makes sense for them to pay for play

My famiy friend is a GP and recently had to break the news to a young man (about 19 or 20) that he had contracted HIV from sleeping with a local Thai girl while on holidays.

None of this is necessarily true - they may have a want and the money to satisfy it.

OP - the key to understanding prostitution is to understand this: you're not paying them for sex. You can get sex for free at home. You're paying them for sex and then to go away. Try paying a wife to go away and see what's cheap about that sex.

I have some (male, and somewhat badass) family in Thailand. I wouldn't be surprised if they had hookers sometime, but both of them had long term Thai girlfriends. We're talking 4-5 years, and they were never people who had trouble hooking up with white chicks. They work on oil rigs and after working on the rig for 4 months, they had them a stack of Euros, a couple dozen grand, and say we'll see you in 4 months. They then go to Thailand with like, 40000 Euros, and since everything is cheap, they basically live like millionares and just party all the time. But even though I'm sure each one of them has fucked dozens of Thai chicks, from what my cousin was saying, and he's pretty straight up with me, you don't need to do a whole lot more than give them a nice evening and you'll probably be going home happy, without any money exchanging (except for buying them food/drinks/etc.) He basically said that a white guy in Thailand who's buying drinks for people at the bar is seen as very rich, and bam, don't even need to work too hard for it.

most of the guys who hook up with these girls are horrible fat and sweating profously. i feel bad for all parties involved. i also feel really sorry for Thai guys. There are so many girls working as prostitutes or hooking up with white guys there must be a shortage of them left for thai guys. A guy i know hooked up with the smartest and prettiest girl from Laos (met her through work when he was there) and everyone just assumes she is one of those girls. Also really bad for asian girls from western countries who go to SE Asia on holdidays with their holidays and everyone assumes they are whores. its also quite common in reverse with french women in west africa, american women in caribean etc

I know a guy who spent about 10 years in the Navy and he said that he knew of at least 3 guys who got HIV from a Thai girl when they stopped there.

This is probably true in the same sense that every man in Jaipur (India) wanted me to smuggle 'precious' stones for them to The Netherlands (after which they would be sure to return the credit from my card...) Every man that approached me, that is.

I know a Thai girl here (Shanghai), who's doing her MBA. Whenever she travels back to Bangkok with her French boyfriend she has to dress ultra-conservatively so the locals don't think she's a hooker.
