Dude, I wish I was making $10 an hour. I'd be ballin' compared to where I'm at now.

how many of you have ever known a professional athlete? most of them have been told since age 12 that normal rules do not apply and something will always work out. and, until they're no longer athletically useful, somebody usually makes sure something does. is it any wonder they have trouble in real life?

You came into the conversation late and must not have read very closely. The assertion was that eskimos will never win the 200m sprint in the olympics and africans will never create an automotive industry - both due to evolution. I pointed out that one cannot alter their own genetics, but they can work hard, learn and apply themself. While genetics may prevent eskimos from running fast, there is no showing that genetics prevents africans from working hard, applying themselves and learning.

I find that odd. Texans tend to be very specific about not associating with the rest of the "The South." Austinites take this even further and will say Austin to avoid connections with the rest of the Texas.

About pippen being broke, do you guys realize how much these guys gamble? Over a couple years it adds up. Not to mention all the other stuff i mentioned in my post. It's not just all about failed stocks and real estate ventures

Texan identity, in general

1. Texan
2. Amurrican (if white) or ethnic group (if not)
3. westerner (never met one who felt 'southern' but I stay the fuck out of the Piney Woods)
4. Austinite/Dallasite/etc. or region of Texas if not from one of the major centers
