Dark Brown Blazer for Summer (and spring, and early autumn)

I recently started two blazer threads, focused on black summer blazers (including this one: http://www.styleforum.net/showthread.php?t=169064). After considering the feedback and my own fealings, I am inclined not to go for a black blazer this year.
So instead I am considering dark brown. I saw a very dark brown herringbone cloth in a mix of cotton and linen (and, I think, some silk) in a Zegna book. My tailor said: a bit dark for summer, IMO. Well, but maybe it would look good with off white or grey trousers and a light shirt?
Any thoughts on dark brown for this summer?
And, please, give reasons for your answers!

So far, no answers. Maybe the feelings about brown are more relaxed than the feelings about black. Or maybe people are just tired of answering silly colour threads...

Just came back from my tailor's, it seems that he shares the general opinion on SF about black. He didn't look happy when I pointed at the black australian wool cool effect Zegna cloth.
He showed my some other books. I found a beatiful dark brown (not too dark) herringbone wool+silk+linen cloth by Drapers, ref. 3964. A bespoke jacket would amount to EUR 1050. I don't know of I should ask for a half lined one. My tailor doesn't recommend it but will of course make it if I wish.

I have a half-lined brown herringbone silk/linen mix jacket and it's become a go-to during the summer months. Go for it!

Dark brown or light brown? I had a light brown one, herringbone, and I fear that the dark may be a bit dark for summer, but, on the other hand, I like the idea of the contrast between the dark brown jacket and the off white trousers. Maybe even with grey trousers. With a pair of nice brown shoes (or even sneakers, one of these summer days I go sans tie).

The specific brown Draper's cloth I mentioned above has something "toasted" about it ("tostado" in Spanish). Looked really nice. Not a dull brown at all.

Withought wishing to appear unhelpful, it's likely somewhere between the two. I'll try to post a pic soon, the light's gone for now! Brown jacket and off-white trousers is a classic look.

I wore something similar a few days ago, except w/ a purple gingham shirt and a brown/blue/white striped tie.

I would like a brown summer jacket, probably in a washed linen or hemp.

One of the things I like about brown is that I feel that it can combind well with quite a few colours, allowing for very interesting combos.

Yes, I really feel inclinded towards the dark brown option.

However, when visiting my tailor yesterday, apart from the brown cloth I mentioned, I also saw a lovely Zegna wool&linen&silk cloth in a very strange colour, like a mix of grey and purple; towards the lighter end of the scale. Really something different. I am giving it some thoughts. Now, I promise not to start any thread about it...

Summer lets you go so much lighter in colour that I wouldn't. Would be fine for fall/winter but summer not for me. Ask yourself why the tailor doesn't want to do unlined. Likely he doesn't want to do all the work on the exposed seems.

^^ Ok, I thought that you already got it made. Look forward to seeing how it turns out made up.
