I like their Sonoma Chicken Salad. They also have esoteric fruit juices like Dixie Peach.

I like the tj's I goto in san diego near downtown. Decent selection, cheaper prices than the whole foods right nearby by a lot, and decent talent. There's a ralph's right next store so for any shortfalls at TJs I'll just walk right over to finish up shopping [whether its other meats or produce, baking shit, etc]. But ralphs is over priced for the most part. They pump their store brand and seem to mark up the brand name stuff.

Too much sodium in their frozen meals... like restaurant food. Still, I shop there a couple times a month.. My favs are the pizzas and the breaded fish nuggets. The prices are great on some things, not on others.

The chocolate orange sticks is mostly why I go to Trader Joe's. Also, saffron is cheaper there and I like to get their dried sweetened hibiscus flowers to use as garnish for drinks.

- TJ is cheaper than Whole Foods

- TJ is not "corporate" like Safeway or Giant (at least that's what it seems). It's more personal and neighborhoody - there's no loud intercom asking for a price check in aisle "x"; the employees all seem to be young and personable -- college students trying to make extra money rather than high school dropouts. I recently went to the new, fancy Safeway in Georgetown (DC) and the experience was so much more negative with the constant, loud intercom asking employees to come here or go there -- it was like being on a factory floor. Atmosphere can make a difference.

- They have some unique products, like unusual (and good) yogurt, juices, etc. Pre-made pizza dough that I can't find anywhere else.

- Fantastic and very cheap frozen seafood. Thick tuna steaks for something like 5 bucks?!

- A nice beer and wine selection

- Their produce may not be as great as Whole Foods in all categories, though they have a big selection and they have all the staples and some unique products, like giant containers of blueberries for very reasonable prices.
