Perfect song choice, "Crystal Blue Persuasion". I broke out laughing as soon as it started!

I really thought the first year would end with the Phoenix "cartel" coming for Walt's family. But Hank figuring out Walt's involvement makes it clear that there's a showdown coming between the two.

Just because the DEA knows now doesn't mean there aren't still other dangers.

Cannot believe they didn't use this until now. I can only imagine some 20-something hipster music snob bringing this up in the writer's room and Vince Gilligan's head exploding like, "holy shit I can't believe I didn't think of this!"

Yeah, but I thought that the cartel coming for Walt's family would tie in with Walt's M60 and also leave us in suspense for the next year.

And Vince Gilligan may be a little too young to remember "Crystal Blue Persuasion". The only reason I know it is because an older brother liked it and played it a lot (and I'm no kid, myself).

(Wow, the wiki entry for the song already references its use in tonight's episode of "Breaking Bad").

Cartel, Declan, Meridian...there's no end to the possible danger for Walt.

They keep bringing in the resin and yet no one has died from it. Gotta say, either Walt or Hank is gunna go out by resin poison by the end of it.

Holy shit!!!!!! Awesome fucking episode. That jazz music over the jailhouse action was perfect, as was the use of Tommy James. Like someone said, I can't believe that hasn't popped up before. I was sitting in the kitchen of the hostel and screamed "YES!". The other Mexicans were like "wtf is wrong with this gringo?"

Jesse thought he was gonna get it. One thing... if you had 5 mil, would you just fucking leave it at the door while you went inside??

So what now? Walt is busted, but he's out. I would imagine Hank is going to have a huge problem trying to bust him. Jesse, though. Hank knows about Jesse.

Very nice episode. My stomach was churning during the last scene. I kept thinking some cartel boys were about to walk up to Walt's doorstep or something.

One thing though: couldn't Walt just say he picked that book up at a Half-Priced Bookstore or something? The WW initials is a little coincidental, but that's it.

Now if this leads to Hank investigating how they bought the carwash and Walt's "blackjack winnings," well then......

BTW you mean "Madrigal" when you say "Meridian" right?

Who was it that gave that book to Walt? I forget.

Overall, loved the episode. Had everything that makes BB what it is. Almost perfect. Just wish they had not taken the easy route with Walt "getting out" of the business. No way it would be that simple for him. Hopefully when the show returns they expand on that element.

Thanks. Now I remember it. Really need to go back and rewatch the full show before it returns next year.
