Every second they've been on the screen (except maybe the flashback as youngsters) has been theatrically embellished. I think it's a product of the particular Mexican tradition they developed under. So, for me, it wasn't really a stretch to retrieve the axe, especially if we take into account that bullied brother wants to impress the wounded one. One of the best episodes yet.

I thought she was gonna bribe him. The episode guide on my cable box said "Skylar tries to cut a deal with Walt" so that was misleading.

another thing about Jessie - walt had a choice of either having him killed or giving him half the money, this shows that he isn't quite as bad as he could be by this point.


also, if the DEA is going to be wathicn jessie, is it such a good idea to have him coming to the new lab?

I've been giving the scene with Hank and the cousins some thought over the past few days and realized that the way they went about the attempted hit was seen by us through Hank's eyes. So, of course it would seem sloppy because it was through his hyper-aware viewpoint and involved his ability to take advantage of the situation he was given.

Gale seems pissed. If Gus doesn't immediately eliminate him, I could see him going all loose cannon and fucking things up for everybody. I don't think Gus is an immediate danger, but there is definitely gonna be some kind of showdown farther down the line. Gus vs. Walt is the stuff that they make season finales out of. And how cool was that wobbly table scene.

That's what I was thinking last week when firing Gale came across Walt's mind. I was wondering whether Walt knew that in having him fired probably would mean a death sentence for Gale, something presumably Walt definitely would not want. Maybe Walt will come to learn of it and realize that 3 months notwithstanding, there is no way out.


Or maybe Gus knows that Gale is in fact very competent at meth-making, that he's seen/learned enough in that breif time, and will keep him in reserve until he takes over the lab.

Wobbly table scene was cool, though I don't really understand what it's purpose was. Maybe to remind us how "real" the characters are? Also Skylar defending Walt when Marie was blaming him for getting mixed up with Jesse was a surprise. Also the most memorable scene of the episode, the last twin crawling out of his bed towards Walt. That was fucking creepy.
