Do women keep doors open for you? - Page 3

Only attractive females seem to keep doors open for me. I thank them by bestowing upon them a smile, a slight nod of the head or a thank you.

Ugly overweight hags on the other hand are bitter creatures and seem to not give a crap about anyone but their own fat ass.

I myself tend to hold the door open for anyone that is within close proximity...a general rule is holding it for no more than 3 seconds.

Funny, I'm of the exact opposite opinion...If there were a city I'd want to live the rest of my life in, it'd be San Francisco.

Vague study findings about regional habits
http://www.readersdigest.ca/mag/2006/07/polite.php

An unscientific, gender-specifc survey
http://surveycentral.org/AdvStats/1532.html

It's nice to not be the first to point out the role of appearance. Obviously, the elderly, the disabled, and attractive women are more likely to have doors held for them. Where's the research, though? For example, factoring out nationality (per the first link), does the appearance of the person who could hold the door open matter? Hidden-camera ABC 20/20 piece, please.

Interesting. Thanks for the links.

The suburbs of anywhere are pretty much like that. All that space breeds a form of alienation and entitlement. I am totally going to make my kids share rooms.

Well, I sincerely wish you the best of luck. Public transportation indeed sucks in San Fran, and you need to invest in a small car to keep your sanity while driving around downtown.
