Seattle Mariners vs Oakland Athletics - Page 2

The Rangers and Mariners look to be in a dead heat in projections, with the Angels just behind and the A's slightly behind them. The Rangers have the benefit of four of BA's top 50 prospects. The AL West isn't going to be the joke it once was.

true... here's an example: "fuck, tickets to Yankee Stadium/Fenway Park are going to be expensive... fuck it lets just watch the Yankees/Red Sawx play at camden yards... we'll make a trip out of it... drive in eat blue crabs, and hit the bars." lol i was just kidding, but i have actually done that... instead i took that washington/baltimore bus from pen station to avoid driving drunk back... but seriously I excited was thinking about finally watching a bunch of sawx games at camden yards when I almost did my medical residency in Baltimore. instead i have to watch them in the new toilet (the new yankee stadium). still the same shitty area in the bronx only now its shinier and more expensive. i seriously can't wait to see all the youngins the birds have this year... they are stacked galore.. looking like the devil rays of 2008 coming together...

But back to the M's, they've had 3 or 4 (somebody I assume will bring up Edgar) of this generation's best players and I think they only won one playoff game.

Oakland also sucks.

It's almost baseball season!!! Time for us to see to see how our teams look for the upcoming season and talk trash about how our teams free agent acquisitions are going to put us over the top...Oh wait, my teams owner is going through a divorce and as a result, this off season jack shit was done to make the team better.

I feel for you buddy, but remember that no moves is still better than anything Bill Bavasi would have done to you.

Dude, don't you know that this is ultimately awesome news? Frank's gonna have to sell once this is settled. Any new owner is fine by me. And there's rumors of Mark Cuban, so it could turn our brilliantly. I don't really mind the lack of offseason moves either because the team had enough parts under contract to keep them competitive for this year.

If you can't remember before the season starts I say we do pre-season stat/achievement predictions.

50 HR

No Hitters/Perfect Game

Most steals...etc.

Yeah I guess that is very true if it turns out that way. I just think we are a couple pieces away from really being a top contender. If Kershaw keeps developing and Billingsley can put a full season together it looks promising. Just would love to have a 2B and another good starter.

Good joke. The A's are still awful and the Rangers will still find a way to screw things up. Angels were crippled pretty bad in the off season but it's still a very solid team all around... they can finish first assuming Saunders/Santana slip back in 2008 form and Brandon Wood/Izturis can somewhat fill the void of Chone Figgins' departure. Otherwise, I have the Mariners winning it.

Someone remind me and/or trash talk.

That would be me. Nice to see I made such an unforgettable impression.
In any case the bets on and the M's will suck it like a prison bitch. Granted they have decent pitching but won't be able to score more than one run a week. The decades of futility will continue for the M's and the A's will be right there to prolong it.
