I've noticed this. My thought was it had to do with the diff. in bra technology.

My best friend and I found a nudist volleyball magazine in 4th grade ('64). We stared for hours at vaginas.

Some of the vintage material is excellent. Unfortunately, the knowledge that there's a monstrous bush looming just out of sight in all of those pics really dampens the experience.

I think climate change has something to do with it...

This is 200 proof awesomeness. Some of the cartoons are kind of funny, too.

Funny, I could've sworn it was Bush's fault.

I was probably 15, went on a visit to my grandparents and found a huge sunkist orange crate full of dimestore pulp novels and girlie mags of my grandfathers. I was hoping to find some Varga pin-ups as there were 3-4 Esquires from the 40's, but they were gone.

Also, a semi related story. As a child my grandmother made my dad take my aunt and uncle to church on wednesday nights so she could smoke (a secret she kept from my grandfather til about the time of her death) and play bridge with her girlfriends.

Anyhow, my dad pasted the varga pin-ups at various points in the pew bible of the local Anglican church to make his church trips tolerable.
