I know some primates have communal family structures, I wouldn't be surprised if it happened there. I slept through most of my biology classes, boringgggggg, so I don't remember if we talked about breastfeeding at all. However, their mating habits are aptly described as "random." Regardless, that argument doesn't quite hold up. If you are willing to consume cow's milk, you evidently don't care whether or not the cow gave birth to you.

I don't like most strongly flavored cheeses so I wouldn't eat it, but if I did like them I don't think I'd hesitate.

You can quite debatably be able to have a personal relationship with a pet. Many people keep pigs as pets, and pork is acceptably eaten by most cultures. It's fine if you don't want to eat it, but I just think it's crazy to decry human cheese as revolting. In every logical sense, it really isn't, it's just emotionally challenging for some people apparently.

Why is this such an issue? Mammals make milk and they also make babies. I guess our babies aren't normally food, so ergo, our milk isn't necessarily food. Not so for the rest of the genus. This chef just accomplished everything he was looking for.
