I may have you confused with someone else, but dont you own/owned a GT3? If so, how's the reliability/cost of ownership on these babies? If I were to get one of these babies I wouldn't take the new car depreciation on a $120k+ base...Id go CPO instead...

I have a Cayman. Have you looked on the Rennlist forum for ownership advice? They have a dedicated 997 GT3/GT2 section. Maintenance will be expensive, like any other high performance car.

I would also add that NA is quicker to respond to inputs and accelerates much quicker coming out of a corner. Get in a track with a series of twisties and the turbo can never quite build it's boost and by the time they are out of the twisties it's lost 30 ft to the NA car.

Not if you know how to brake boost it.

I was at my mechanic today, and asked about these two cars, and it basically came down to what you want to use it for. Also, avoid the first model year if you're going used.

To clarify what I wrote before, both cars will be more than fine for track work (especially for most of us who are not pro sportscar racers), but the GT3 makes little sense if you're not going to the track, or even if you only very occasionally go. If you like the GT3's look, there are lots of body-kit vendors out there so you rice out the Turbo as much as you can stand.

i think you're right, and i would probably only seldom take my car to the track. but Jesus God does was that GT3 fun to drive. and that engine/exhaust sound is intoxicating the Turbo is ridiculously fast. just insane. but no drama to it at all, if that makes sense. it doesn't get your heart beating like the GT3 does.

Cars aside... Its purely business, if you owned your own brand, you wouldnt create just 1 product line with the same item right?
