***I think I fixed the problem after coming up with decent search terms in Google.
So, I used to start up the computer, click on the 2 little computer screens icon in the bottom right of my screen, select the network, and select connect to. Done.
The other day, I tried to connect to somebody's internet through a cable, and it did not work. In my attempts to make it work, I clicked around a bit in the control panel and some stuff about passwords and ISPs came up. So I quit.
Now, when I start my computer, a box pops up that asks me if I want to connect to a dial up connection (not plugged in to anything). I have to click cancel 3 times (ostensibly 3 boxes are there) for this to go away.
then, if I click on those faithful 2 computer screens with a globe, the connect to a network box pops up, but instead of it only being wireless networks available, a broadband option is there. If I click on "show" wireless instead of the now defaulted "all" it goes back to normal.
But, there is a bit of an inconvenience of seeing an option I will never connect to, and this having to cancel upon start up. I must have changed some default somewhere, but can not figure it out for the life of me. Any help is a appreciated. Sorry for the longer post, but really do not know how to explain this, and as you can tell, I am luck to have the computer skills to click on the firefox icon to enable me to post this.
