Very true. I feel bad for the unpopular folks who get only tepid, polite applause or even no applause at all. Obviously some people are going to be better known than others, but the audience should at least have the taste to try to applaud for everyone shown.

Ugh, I really hate this thing they do now where they get actors and actresses up on stage to pile encomiums on the nominated actors/actresses. The definition of schmaltzy Hollywood self-congratulation.

Just got back from seeing Crazy Heart. Great movie. Bridges was great.

Hells yeah. I was really hoping for him to bust out some Lebowski reference on stage. I'll settle for his use of "man" after every other sentence.

I turned the Oscars off for a while and turned it back on just to remember why I turned it off. This is pathetic.

Holy shit. I can't take these best actor/actress superlatives. The one for sandra bullock was ridiculous. I think forest whitaker said something along the lines of "the beauty, and intricacies of her magical acting prowess" and it was unreal awful. How come all of these actors are "courageous" which i heard like 2-3 people say. Can't we just describe what the actor/actress did in that movie and then play a clip of them? The fuck. I hope they don't do this every year from now on
