Charles Tyrwhitt Shoe Sale - Page 3

This is ridiculous. What a deal! I think styleforum should be sponsored by MasterCard.

Am fighting the order because I've just destroyed my budget, repeatedly...

Yes, you are understanding it correctly. Really an amazing catch.

I've never been in on the Ralph Lauren buys, but I've seen the people from SF optimize concidental sales & specials using "stackable" codes that result in *huge* discounts.

The $100 off link actually works for less than $250.

I just got a $215 order for $115 with free shipping.

p.s. thanks norcal

I pulled the plug on a pair of Tan leather chukka's and a cream cotton suit.

Thank you, Norcaltransplant, for the tip and the link!

Damn it all to hell Another $300 on it's way to CT, just couldn't resist a the Cherry Suede Brogued Boots, a pair of Navy/Brown Boat shoes, a few belts and a few sweaters for those cool evenings. Good thing the Norwich was sold out in my size or I'd have orders a pair in Black. I'm hopeless.

Thanks norcal, I think I owe you a kickback. I was debating the cream cotton suit at $285, at $185 I had no choice but to do it. Somehow black derbys, black wholecuts, and tan derbys found their way onto my order as well.** Strange how these things happen.

**(Actually another order. $300 worth of goods gets you $100 off, and $600 gets you $100 off, but two separate $300 orders gets you $200 off. With free shipping, and easy returns 1.5 blocks from my office, why not?)

are they on to us? i purchased two pairs of shoes for the $170. went back to the website to order another two pairs for my brother. all of the sudden, the prices have gone up from $135 to about $158. still a good deal but i just wonder if they're on to us. shades of the polo coupon incident. heh heh.

weird, i had a suspicion that the site was using cookies to remember my login and not allow me to make the same purchase again. lo and behold, i log into a different computer, and the prices are back to $135. interesting...

Anyone from Canada able to get these shoes without shipping successfully? $85 per shoe sounds absolutely ridiculous.

And how do Tyrwhitt shoes compare to Allen Edmonds?
I ask because my collection is predominantly AE.

The 1880 IMHO are close to AE but not as clunky. I own an AE Park Avenue, tried on the AE Fairfax and own the Loake Norwich (which CT sells as the "sharp brogue"). The Calf Leather line of CT is predominantly Loake's 1880 range from what I understand.

Has anyone else had trouble actually getting their CT order? Took me much more than a month, including multiple calls to their freight forwarder and CT customer service. Customer service was nice enough, but the freight forwarder was ridiculous. Anyway, I got the semi-brogues in non-calf. Good shoes, indeed, though they're a bit bland straight out of the box. What I'm really loving are my shirts, which for the price (50% off) are great. I've heard complaints that they fit like sails, but my sport shirt and slim fit dress shirt are fine on my slim build.

I wear Allen Edmunds 10 EEE. On their website, CT lists the sizes as U.S. sizes. Would I be correct to order a size 10 U.S. in the G fitting?
